PreCheck Celebrates 30 Years in Healthcare Background Screening

This year, PreCheck is celebrating 30 years of providing background screening and license monitoring solutions specific to the healthcare industry! We truly appreciate the support and business from our clients over the past three decades. Through our partnerships, we’ve transformed the screening and license management tech space in healthcare, and we couldn’t continue to do so without our clients’ support.
PreCheck’s President, Zach Daigle, has been with the organization for nearly 20 years of this journey. He sat down with us to discuss how PreCheck has evolved over the course of three decades, as well as what we’ve learned, what we’ve accomplished, and what lies ahead.
Tell us how you’re feeling as PreCheck celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Zach: I feel proud of the history of the company, and our ability to maintain our strong legacy as a high-quality provider servicing healthcare, one of the most highly regulated industries in the United States. I’m proud of our incredible impact over 30 years on the quality of healthcare in this country, protecting the lives in the communities we serve in partnership with our clients.
How have you seen PreCheck evolve over the past 30 years?
Zach: We’ve evolved immensely over the past 30 years. You think about how screening used to be a paper process using mail, for example. We were once cutting-edge buying fax machines for customers to help them have a more electronic and automated process.
Today, we’re a certified green business. Virtually all of our business is done electronically utilizing technology and integrations, as well as automation where it makes sense. We are a tech-enabled service, and we will continue to prioritize technology as we move into the future to best serve our client base without losing the human element which allows us to provide the higher level of service our clients expect.
What are PreCheck’s biggest accomplishments over the past three decades? What are some highlights you’re most proud of?
Zach: One of the biggest things we’ve accomplished is that we identified the healthcare industry has very unique needs, and we’ve been able to anticipate those needs for our clients before they even realize it. We’ve built out everything nose-to-tail to help our healthcare clients meet accreditation standards, and as those evolve, we evolve with them in real time.
Today, we’re very proud to say that we serve more than half of all U.S. hospitals and health systems. That means we’re achieving our mission to advance the quality of healthcare.
We’re also proud that we’re able to maintain an extremely client-centric approach to product development. We’ve built proprietary technology solutions focused on helping our clients as the world has drastically evolved over the past 30 years.
What does PreCheck’s future look like?
Zach: I think you’re going to see us change from a company that’s focused on the business of data and verification, to building new paradigms to allow healthcare workers to own their own credentials. We’ll create scalable solutions to allow the various beneficiaries needing information to help these healthcare workers move through their careers more seamlessly, with less friction and greater opportunities.
As part of the Cisive family, we will become a global provider of healthcare solutions. In all geographies where we operate, we’ll be connecting those future employers to these candidates in a way that’s never been done before.
Candidates will have a verified wallet of their own credentials, and we’ll play many roles in that blockchain ecosystem. Through our partnership with the Velocity Network and the Internet of Careers, you’ll see a wildly changing business as we move from 100-year-old resume verification processes to a self-sovereign approach, allowing candidates to own their data and capitalize on those benefits.
What can we look forward to from PreCheck?
Zach: Business model innovation. Our clients will have a much more real-time experience, making decisions about who to hire in hours rather than days. We’ll also continue to build solutions that provide for real-time monitoring of all the various personnel types who interact with the healthcare ecosystem, from volunteers to board members. We’ll be providing solutions for each need, to help our clients protect their business, their reputation, and their patient population.
Any final thoughts?
Zach: We have an extremely bright team here at PreCheck. We’ll have exciting things on the horizon that we haven’t even thought of yet. We have team members in the lab working right now to discover the best ways to continually improve our services to our clients. We’re going to bring technological disruption to them, rather than sitting back, waiting, and reacting to what’s happening in the market. A partnership with PreCheck is going to be a very exciting time for our clients.
We again want to thank our clients for being on this journey with us. We look forward to many more years of transformative partnerships as we work together to advance the quality of healthcare through our innovative tech-enabled solutions and our client-centered approach.
