PreCheck Raises Funds for Nepal Earthquake Relief
Senior Director of Marketing

Inspired by our client Hospital Corporation of America’s up to $1 million pledge to aid three international organizations’ Nepal earthquake relief efforts, we at PreCheck decided to take part in these efforts as well. This week, we organized a Jeans Week to raise funds for the American Red Cross’ aid in Nepal. As a healthcare specific background screening firm with patient care at the heart of our mission, we care about supporting the critical relief efforts that are necessary for Nepal. To expand the impact of our fundraising efforts, PreCheck also made the pledge to match all of our employee donations.

As I celebrate my six-year anniversary with PreCheck, I feel privileged to be part of a company that has proven to be so caring, generous and supportive throughout the years. We truly care about patient care and we want to make a difference in the world.

The Impact of Nepal’s Earthquake

According to a BBC Report, officials say Saturday April 25’s earthquake killed more than 5,500 people, and injured at least 11,000. Unfortunately, this was the worst earthquake to affect Nepal in 80 years. Nepal faces the risk of deadly diseases that could potentially affect thousands and stretch Nepal’s medical infrastructure to the brink, says an April 29 article in Quartz India. With Nepal’s government and other aid agencies still struggling to reach far flung areas hit by the earthquake, it will be a difficult balancing act to ensure that large clusters of survivors in relief camps and elsewhere have access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities.
