We use information provided by you solely for the purpose of conducting the specific business transactions for which it was collected. Depending on the type of transaction or service requested, you may provide us with certain personally identifiable information (PII) such as first and last name; previously used names; social security number; date of birth, home address, or other physical address; email address (for contact purposes); telephone number; employment information, schools attended, licenses held and other information as required to process your verification. Other information might include usernames and passwords, information relating to any orders you place, or inquiries you make through our website.
This information is required for us to properly process criminal background checks, motor vehicle reports, employment verifications, education verifications, sanction checks, etc. We will only use the information collected from you for the purpose of completing your background screening. We will not release your PII to third parties except as necessary for us to process your transaction.

If you are an individual and a PreCheck client has requested a background screening investigation, and you have submitted personal information to PreCheck at the request of such client for purposes of procuring a background report, then you can review your PreCheck file in accordance with your file disclosure rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, California Civil Code Section 1786.22 and any other applicable state laws by contacting PreCheck's Customer Service Department at email@example.com.
Most services offered by PreCheck are considered Consumer Reports as the term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This makes PreCheck a consumer reporting agency (CRA) as defined under the FCRA. Pursuant to the requirements of the FCRA:
(1) Information about you may only be supplied to third parties that have a permissible purpose to request the information. Typically these are employment, credit, insurance, rental or banking type transactions that you initiate. We must ensure our clients have a permissible purpose to receive the requested information.
(2) CRA’s must have reasonable procedures to ensure the accuracy of the information they furnish or maintain. If you request a copy of your information, you have a right to dispute any discrepancies and request a reinvestigation and correction.

Securing Your Information
PreCheck is committed to the protection and security of your Personally Identifiable Information. We use a combination of security technologies, procedures and organizational measures to help secure sensitive information against unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) data encryption secures data that is transmitted over the Internet to our web site. Layered firewalls and other security technologies prevent unauthorized access to our systems. Strong password protection protocols are used on our computers. The servers storing sensitive data are maintained in a secure environment with appropriate security measures. Additionally, we back up our data daily and have a redundant system in place to prevent against data loss and disruption of operations.
In, the event of a breach of our security systems that results in any compromise or unauthorized release of sensitive information, we will contact the authorities immediately and notify you.
Proper Data Collection, Retention, and Destruction
PreCheck maintains a rigorous and on-going training program for our employees to keep them abreast of critical practices regarding the proper collection, retention and destruction of sensitive information. Furthermore, our internal program emphasizes breach prevention, continuous monitoring of standards adherence and enforcement efforts.
Personally Identifiable Information is only collected when required to process a business-related permissible purpose. The information that you provide to us is retained pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) for a period of six (6) years.
PreCheck properly, completely and effectively disposes of all sensitive data such as shredding documents and erasing election media so that information cannot be practicably read or reconstructed.
Per its data retention policy, data will not be stored by PreCheck longer than 8 years. All data (8) years or older will be purged from the PreCheck database on April 1, 2016. Thereafter, data purging will occur the first weekend of each month.
Children Under Age 13
PreCheck does not offer services to children under the age of 13, and this web site is not directed to children under the age of 13. PreCheck does not knowingly collect information about children under the age of 13.
